Feedback from 2014’s Working on Waste campaign revealed an appetite for greater insight into how the food and grocery industry could help consumers reduce household food waste.
To explore the latest thinking, IGD hosted a series of debates in 2015, bringing together industry companies, academia, NGOs and consumers.
There were three themes discussed:
- Information provision vs education
- Collaboration vs competition
- Technical solutions vs behaviour change
The debates were stimulating and productive, generating thought provoking ideas and comments from throughout the industry.
All of the feedback and insight shared has gone on to support the creation of our new thought leadership paper ‘Celebrating food: the opportunities surrounding household food waste’.
