2012 was a spectacular year for Britain. During the Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee the whole world focused on us and we had the opportunity to showcase all the great things about being British.

We need to keep last year’s momentum going and IGD’s Industry Awards is a fantastic chance to showcase the outstanding contributions by individuals and organisations in our world class industry.

The theme of this year’s Awards is ‘Who’s taking charge?’ So if you think you are one of our industry’s bright sparks because you or your company have made an outstanding contribution over the last year, then you should enter to get the recognition you deserve.

I am delighted to announce our inaugural Digital Innovation award for the company that best uses digital technology to engage with shoppers in innovative and creative ways. Another new award this year is for Outstanding Contribution – for the individual who has really made their mark on our industry.
