James Walton, who will share his insight on the economic environment and the tactical and strategic challenges we face as an industry.

Rhian Thomas will then share how James’ macro view breakdown into the commercial challenge - what we need to collectively deliver within grocery retail, to meet the needs of the evolving consumer. And outlining the levers we must pull in the coming months and years in order to best do this.

We welcome our new Group Marketing Director Becky Brock to this year’s IGD event. Becky’s session will focus on the customer, how the new marketing approach provides a platform for quality and personalisation is elevating the shopper experience.

The programme will then split into two streams for Fresh and Packaged attendees.

Commercial Directors Dominic Morrey (Fresh) and Gordon Gafa (Packaged) return to run the divisional sessions, alongside their senior teams, talking through their plans and priorities for the year.

Fresh divisional session

Commercial Director for Fresh Foods, Dom Morrey will lead the session. The team will discuss progress over the last year and key highlights as well as how the overarching strategy shared in the earlier sessions directly impacts plans for Fresh over the coming months. They will also cover the evolution of quality, where we’ve made significant step changes and how this elevates our offering for customers.

Packaged divisional session

Focusing on how the overarching business strategy filters down to the divisional plans, Commercial Director for Packaged Foods, Gordon Gafa will lead the session, looking back at progress over the last year. The team will also cover the Packaged plan, and how each pillar builds towards creating an unbeatable proposition for customers via our leading supplier partnerships.
